T-Ball!!

As of yesterday we have officially entered the world of spring sports! Gabrielle had her very first t-ball practice yesterday and she could not have been cuter! Yes, I realize being "cute" is not the point of playing t-ball but for me it is the best part. Ha! She seemed to be a little lost at times, uncertain of what she was supposed to be doing, but she will get the hang of it.

Gabrielle is playing on the same team with her best friend Lilly. There is only one other little girl on the team. I'm sure a few weeks into the season they'll be showing the boys how it's done.

I guess it takes 5 men to be able to handle and coach this group of 4, 5 and 6 year olds!

Madilyn and Samantha will be the little cheerleaders for their big sisters!

"Run Lilly, run!"

"Run Gabi, run!"

Hmmm...only to second base and already tired and walking? We have a lot of training to do!

I didn't get any pictures of the girls batting but there will be plenty of practices and games for that. This is going to be a very fun and busy spring!

My Lil' Super Hero

Today in Sunday school Gabrielle learned about our greatest hero - Jesus! They made these adorable super hero masks, which she wore through the first part of church. Her Sunday school teacher has done some absolutely adorable lessons with the kids - she and all of the assistants are so great. At home this afternoon Gabrielle found a bag I had made out of a pillowcase which she has appropriately turned in to her super hero cape to go with her super hero mask. It's moments like this I am amazed this adorable and creative little girl is mine! I love her!!

Samantha's First Haircut

Today I finally made myself do the inevitable - I took my baby to get her first professional haircut. Don't ask me why this was such a difficult thing to do because I do not know the reason. It just was.

Before...

and after...

I realize there is not much difference between the before and after. I only wanted the ends snipped slightly, just to start evening it out and look a little fuller.

I did not get any photos of the actual cutting because for one, it took all of 3 minutes to do and also I was not sure how she was going to behave. With her clingy and terrible two moments lately I did not even know if she would sit in the chair by herself. Samantha surprised me once again and did great. She sat in the chair by herself, never cried or fussed, sat still as could be and her only request was to hold my hand. Too cute!!

They gave her a cute little card/certificate, a lock of her hair and a lollipop. All in all, a good experience and good morning.

The Little Chair

I am sure this is not what my Aunt Betsy had in mind when she passed along this cute little doll salon chair to my girls. But little Miss Samantha has claimed it as her own. Afterall it is just the right size - for now!

It's Been A While

It has been a while since I posted anything and that fact really bothers me. I know I will never remember everything that has happened that I wanted to post and there has certainly been plenty to write about. We've been a busy family! So I will just let go of the fact I will in no way be able to catch the blog up and move on.

Strike a pose!

We are now in the (very) early stage of potty training Samantha. She wants to be like big sister and has certainly watched her enough to know how it all works. We just have to get the timing down. But as I said we in very early stages. When we are home doing nothing in particular Samantha wears her little training panties and sits when she feels like sitting. We have had some success but we also have had some messes. I forgot how NOT fun this whole training is!

But she sure is cute and proud of her "new" panties.

Samantha turned herself into a little arts & craft project while visiting Meemaw. Well I guess she may have had a little help but it still made for a good laugh.

I have used my bread machine a few times now. This week I tried my Aunt's yeast rolls recipe. They certainly were not the prettiest rolls but they tasted good. I knew they were not quite right and while talking to Mama I realized I had left out an ingredient. At least I know where I went wrong. These tasted good but the next ones will be even better!

My little flower!! We picked up Gabrielle's ballet recital costume this week. She couldn't be any cuter! Unfortunately the costume was fitted and ordered in November and since then Gabrielle has been through a big growth spurt. She has grown about an inch and a half in the past month or so. She has absolutely no room to grow any more in the next three months!!! Today in fact we have to make a shopping trip for a few essentials since she has grown so much. I need warm weather to permanently arrive so I no longer have to send her out in public with pants too short! Bless her little heart she certainly has her Daddy's long legs!
