Striking Resemblance

It is the time of year my dad is on my mind even more than usual. And maybe that is why my first thought when I opened up the December/January issue of Thriving Family magazine and saw this picture -

was "that's Daddy!"

I could not take my eyes off of this cartoon drawing of MY Daddy. I texted the picture to my brothers and sister to get other opinions. Sure enough, they couldn't believe the striking resemblance either. Everything from the hair, ears (which are hard to see in this picture of a picture), the moustache - even the plaid button up shirt. There is no doubt that cartoon is Joseph Guthrie of Harkers Island, NC. But how this cartoonist who remains unknown to me was able to capture my Daddy is beyond my understanding.

And just to prove it's not a biased opinion of my family, here are some old photographs of my Daddy.

And now one of my Daddy older (but wearing the plaid shirt so you get the full effect)

Now, you tell me, what do you think??

I was thinking about your Daddy (that I only knew in our high school years) after I saw one of these pics of him on FB tonight.....and then to see your post. Wow. Yes, definitely a striking resemblance.

Our Daddy's sure were special men. Maybe they have met up in heaven, telling funny stories about the grand youngun's (how do you spell that??).

Love you a whole bunch.

Wow, I'm amazed that you actually found a picture that looks just like the cartoon. That is quite a resemblance!
